Srinagar, July 18: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Tuesday “clarified” that the outfit has not issued any posters in downtown Srinagar mentioning names of some “Indian agents.”

“It has come to our notice that some posters surfaced in some parts of downtown Srinagar claiming that Hizb ul Mujahideen has released posters featuring names of some Indian agents. We want to make it clear that we have neither released any hit list nor have we drafted any posters ,” a spokesman of the outfit quoting Mohammad Bin Qasim, Operations Commander of the outfit said in a statement.

“This is the clear handiwork of Indian agencies which have failed on every front to crush the genuine aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir and now they are using these tactics to divide our society on different lines,” he said, adding, “Hizb ul Mujahideen has never released any poster mentioning death threats nor do we believe in killing innocent unarmed civilians disagreeing with our ideology. We urge our people not to pay heed to such rumours and propaganda. If anything untoward happens with these “brothers and sisters” whose names have been mentioned , it would be the work of Indian agencies.” (GNS)
