GANDERBAL, JULY 30 – District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today chaired meeting here at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat to review the arrangements for Independence Day 2018 celebration.
Speaking on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner while impressing upon the Officers to show coordination and cooperation, stressed that the committees already formulated will re-check all the arrangements put in place and directed the Officers to ensure the presence of all employees during the function.
Dr, Singla directed all the sectorial officers to ensure their active participation to make the celebration a big success. Preparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, rostrum, arrangements regarding security, seating arrangements, drinking water and uninterrupted electricity supply, barricading, full dress rehearsal, traffic regulation, refreshment for the students after the rehearsal and main function, illumination of government buildings, Duderhuma bridge, medical, sanitation and other emergencies were finalized.
After discussing the arrangements threadbare, it was decided that the main function will be held in the premises of Madri-e-Meharban ground, Ganderbal where the National Flag will be unfurled.
It was given out that several cultural and special theme based programmes will be presented by students from various schools during the function. Rehearsal of March Past and various Cultural programs shall be conducted on 11th and 12th of August and full dress rehearsal on 13th of August.
For beautification of district, in view of independence-day, the DDC directed the executive officer municipality to start special drive on grass and wild bung cutting along all road sides and around schools of the district. He also asked the CEO to organize competitions, seminars and workshops themed on drug abuse in the schools and colleges of the district and meritorious students from these competitions will be awarded on the independence-day.
The meeting was further informed that awards will also be distributed among persons with remarkable contributions in various fields, for which the award committee was directed to chalk out list of meritorious persons in different fields.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to provide full uniform and costumes to all the march past participants.
The meeting was informed that contingents of JKP, Army, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Services, students of government and private schools will participate in the march past parade.
SSP Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Education officer, Chief Medical officer and other concerned were present in the meeting.
