Srinagar, Oct 17 : Two army men and a civilian were injured in separate grenade attacks at Rafiabad and Watergam in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police officer told GNS that the suspected militants carried out the first grenade attack on army’s 32 RR camp at Tragpora, Rafiabad in Sopore. “In the incident, there was no report of any injury to any soldier, however, a civilian Mohammad Ashoor Mir is said to have suffered injuries”.
In another incident at Watergam, the militants lobbed a grenade on the army unit of 32 RR resulting in injuries to two soldiers, he said, adding that both the injured have been hospitalized.
Meanwhile, militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the twin attacks on the army in Tragpora, Rafiabad and Watergam areas.
In a statement issued to GNS, a spokesperson of the outfit said that its cadres carried out the first grenade attack on the army’s 32 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Tragpora, Rafiabad.
He claimed that another grenade attack was carried out on the army camp at Watergam.
“In the attacks, several forces personnel were injured,” he said. (GNS)
