Devotees say they prayed for peace, religious harmony

Srinagar, Oct 18: Amid volatile situation, the Kashmiri Pandits celebrated Navaratri festival in Srinagar and several towns of Kashmir valley with religious gaiety and fervor.
The Kashmiri Pandits celebrated Navaratri festival in a temple in Barbarshah locality of uptown Srinagar by dozens of Kashmiri pundits.
Kashmiri Pandits were seen thronging temples in large numbers in Badrakali village of Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), scores of Kashmiri Pandits outside a temple at Barbarshah Srinagar said that they prayed for mutual religious brotherhood and return of peace and normalcy in Kashmir valley. They said despite shutdown they reached the temples safely and conducted prayers inside temple with peace and harmony.(KNS)
