Budgam, Nov 2, CNS: Amid protest rallies, a complete shutdown was observed by locals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district against the summoning of senior Hurriyat leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had issued a Summon to Aga Syed Hasan directed him to appear before the agency on Friday morning in connection with alleged funding case.
“I was asked questions of varied nature particularly my affiliation with Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat (G). It was a sheer harassment and nothing else. During the September raid in 2017, I had given answers to all the questions and today the same questions were repeated,” Aga Hasan told news agency CNS adding that after a couple of questions he was allowed to go.
Reports said that all the shops and business establishments remained shut in the district while transport also remained off the roads. A large number of people hit to roads against the summoning of Aga Syed Hasan by NIA in Budgam, Magam, Zadibal, Saidakadal, Ashaie Bagh and other areas. The protesters in Budgam burnt down tyres on roads and chanted anti-establishment slogans.
In scores of mosques, the NIA summoning was condemned and solidarity was expressed with Aga Syed Hasan. (CNS)
