Director General of police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Dilbagh Singh on Wednesday said that they will approach Pakistan to take back the body of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt.
Jatt, according to the police, was killed in a gunfight along with an associate in a gunfight with the government forces in Chattergam area of Budgam district today morning.
Addressing reporters in Srinagar, the DGP said they will approach Pakistan through competent authorities and ask them to claim the body of Jatt.
The slain commander is reportedly a resident of Multan area of Pakistan.
He was blamed by the police for the assassination of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari in June this year
