Ganderbal 20 Dec (KNZ):Police on Thursday claimed to have arrest one active militant from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that on a specific input, Ganderbal police alongwith 24RR,118 CRPF in a joint operation and arrested one militant namely Zubair Shabir Bhat S/O Shabir Ahmad Bhat resident of Malpora Anantnag.He was affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT and was a close associate of terrorist commander Naveed Jutt @Hanzalla and Umar Rashid Wani @Abu Haadi.
“Based on credible inputs, a party of Ganderbal Police intercepted motorcycle-borne militant who were moving through the Ganderbal area. Police acting swiftly apprehended the active militant of LeT from Kangan and recovered of a gernade and scooty on which he was riding has also been seized,” the spokesman said.
“He was also involved in many crimes including case FIR number 128/2018 U/S 147, 148, 336 RPC of PS Qazigund. He was also involved in planning attacks on the forces establishments in the area including attacks on local police personnel deployed for duties inside the city,” said police spokesman.“Huge quantity of incriminating material has been seized from Zubair.
“Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation in the matter is in progress,” the spokesman said.KNZ
