Ganderbal 10 Feb (KNZ): The residents of Dar Mohalla area of Perpora in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for ‘failing’ to repair power transformers in the area.

They accuse Power development department (PDD) of callous attitude towards them .

The residents said that the transformer had developed technical snag but is yet to be repaired.

“Our areas are reeling under darkness as PDD failed to repair the transformer which was damaged from last 14 days ago.We are facing lot of difficulties due to unavailability of electricity in this harsh winter,” a local resident said

Residents also said that they had several times complained to PDD authorities regarding this issue but concerned department have not done anything .

They also said higher officials of PDD are not serious about the problems being faced by locals of Dar Mohala .

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ Contacted Executive Engineer PDD Ganderbal Syed Khursheed Ahmad he said that the transformer was sent to the workshop on 27 January and it usually takes around 12 days.Many Transformers develop snags during winter so every one has to wait for their turn.

He also added that transformer of the village will be repaired within few days.KNZ
