BANDIPORA, APRIL 30: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Mohammad Yousuf Mir Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers and representatives of Beopar Mandal to discuss the arrangements for upcoming holy month of Ramzan.
Assistant Commissioner Development Jahangir Ahmad, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Reyaz Ahmad Malik, Executive Engineer PHE, DySP (DAR) AR Khan, Nodal Officer ISM Dr Iftikar, Designated officer Food Safety Yameen-un-Nabi, President Traders Federation Bandipora Shamshad Hussain Bhat and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
On the occasion ADDC directed the concerned officers to put in place all the arrangements with regard to availability of basic amenities to ensure the people don’t face any problem during the holy month.
He asked the officers of the Departments of Animal and Sheep Husbandry to ensure availability of mutton and chicken in the market. The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs were directed to keep adequate stock of essential commodities including LPG and ration while the Department of Legal Metrology was also directed to regularly carry out market checks and monitor quality of edibles besides keeping a strict vigil over rates of commodities.
Mir also asked the Municipal Committee Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin to ensure proper cleanliness around the Mosque and Eidgahs and also directed to repair the damaged street lights.
The Department of Power Development PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar besides directing PHE to ensure adequate supply of water so that people don’t face inconvenience on this account. The Department of Health was also directed to ensure better healthcare services during the month and ensure presence of staff in all health institutions besides holding medical camps at places where large congregations are expected during the month.
On the occasion the representatives of civil society apprised about their demands and sought uninterrupted water and power supply, security arrangements, better sanitation and strict check on quality and rates of essential commodities and vegetables.
The members of trade federation also apprised the meeting about several issues including proper cleanliness and street lighting in the Market and sough early redressal of their grievances. They also assured full cooperation to the administration with regard to the delivery of services to the people during the holy month.
ADDC directed the officers to maintain close coordination with the line departments and the members of civil society and traders so that better services can be provided to the people during the holy month.
