Srinagar, June 14: Gun battle rages between militants and government forces in Braw bandina area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of Army’s 55RR, SOG Pulwama and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Braw bandina area.
A senior police officer told GNS that it was a specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.
Officer further said that while the forces zeroed towards the suspected spot where militants were hiding, the militants opened fire on the forces triggering an encounter.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.(GNS)
