June 15: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Ganderbal has arrested two drug peddlers during a checkpoint and seized contraband substance from their possession.
Two persons identified as Nazir Ahmad son of Ghulam Din Kasana and Mohammad Altaf Kasana son of Farooq Ahmad, both residents of Sumbal Gund who were travelling in TATA Mobile bearing registration No. CH03C-6074, were arrested for drug supply offences and have taken to Police Station Gund where they remain in custody.
Officers at the checkpoint established near Gagangeer have seized contraband substance from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No 21/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Gund and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
