Police in its recent action against drug dealing in Anantnag arrested a house owner for drug peddling offences and recovered huge quantity of contraband (Fukki) from his house.
Police Station Achabal received information from a reliable source that one person namely Mohd Iqbal Drangey Son of Abdul Salam Drangey Resident of Drangey Mohalla Brinti Batpora runs illegal business of poppy straw ( fukki) in his residential house.
On this information SHO Police Station Achabal under the close supervision of SDPO Achabl Aashiq Hussain Tak, visited the spot and conducted search of the above said residential house,during search 06 nylon sacks filled with poppy straw (fukki) weighing 42 Kgs were recovered from the house of above mentioned accused person and arrested accused person namely Mohd Iqbal Drangey S/O Ab Salam Drangey R/O Drangey Mohalla Brinty Batpora on the spot.
In this regard case FIR No 46/2019 under section 8/15 NDPS Act stands registerd in Police Station Achabal and further investigation is going on.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug dealings in their neighbourhood.Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
