July 29: Bandipora Police under aegis of CAP (Civic Action Programme) organized ceremonial volleyball match and distributed volleyball kits among participating teams.
In order to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative particularly in rural areas, a ceremonial volleyball match was played at SK Stadium Bandipora.
On the occasion Shri Rahul Malik, SSP Bandipora was the chief guest. Among other officers, senior citizens and sports lovers of the area were also present. While addressing, SSP Bandipora appealed participants to exhibit a competitive sports spirit in accordance with the rules of the game. He expressed that sports enhance mental, physical capability of youth, inculcate discipline and team-spirit, adding that the sports activities also prevent the youth from indulging in drug abuse & other social crimes. Further, he said that, sports is the best way to channelize energy of youth in positive manner and sports activities play a significant role in development of nation.
The distribution ceremony was held on the sidelines of ceremonial volleyball match and fresh volleyball kits were distributed among all the twenty teams of the district consisting of 180 players. Refreshment was also provided to all the participants
Locals of the area have appreciated the efforts of Bandipora Police. They expressed their desire that such programmes should be organised in future as well so that talent of the youth is encouraged.
