JANUARY 29: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Hashmat Ali Khan today chaired a predatory meeting with the concerned officers to discuss the necessary and appropriate measures to be taken in the district to keep check on spreading and any suspected cases of Corona Virus in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CMO Ganderbal, Ex. En PHE, DPO Ganderbal, District Surveillance Officer, BDC Chairperson Ganderbal, and other concerned.
The newly identified coronavirus called 2019-nCoV has been spreading in China, and has now reached several other countries claiming many lives.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held about the action plan to be adopted to prevent the spread of the Virus in the district.
After a through deliberation about the slew of measures to be taken the DDC directed the concerned for establishment of Control room (9906622135) in the district besides designating of rapid response teams, enhanced surveillance, capacity for laboratory diagnosis, and earmarking isolation wards with special team of doctors and paramedics shall be constituted and trained accordingly.
Emphasizing the need for adopting preventive measures, DDC asked the concerned to adopt all possible measure for generating mass awareness so that people are educated about the preventive measures to be taken. He also urged for installing hoardings at prominent places like hospital premises, market places, Bus Stands, etc besides distribution of pamphlets in such places.
