Ganderbal February 07: District Police Ganderbal in its recent action against drug dealings in at Ganderbal town has arrested one drug peddler and seized contraband substance from his possession.
A team from Police Station Ganderbal has arrested one drug peddler identified as Sajad Ahmed Gasi S/O Abdul Ahad Gasi R/O Saloora Ganderbal. Contraband substance was recovered from his possession includes Charas and Poppy Powder.
A case FIR No. 14/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal. The accused has been formally arrested in the case.
Initial investigation of the case reveals that said accused is a vegetable vendor who was selling drugs to the youth of the town.
Consistent efforts are being made by District Police Ganderbal to control and eradicate menace of drugs from society for which cooperation of general public is required. Those who share information regarding misuse of drugs shall be appreciated and their identity shall be kept secret.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.
