Nearly 40 ministers to do follow-up meetings to first visit, Home Ministry to take final call soon, visiting ministers likely to participate in BJP’s outreach programme in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 20 : The second batch of union cabinet ministers are likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir soon to conduct follow-up meetings to the first visit of 36 Union Ministers last month.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the fresh visit of union cabinet ministers comes almost a month after the first batch of 36 ministers visited Jammu and Kashmir to inaugurate several projects and to spread awareness about the positive impact of abrogation of Article 370 provisions besides the development measures taken by the government for the region.
Reliable sources said that the second batch of union ministers would likely visit Jammu and Kashmir in next month, adding that the second batch comprising of 40 cabinet ministers will do follow-up meetings to the first visit of ministers here recently.
However, they informed that dates have not been mentioned yet, but the decision in this regard is being taken soon. Reliable sources further added that the Home Ministry is going to take a final call in this regard.
They said it is likely that the fresh batch of union ministers will visit Jammu and Kashmir soon after the upcoming parliament session culminates.
Meanwhile, the sources in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the party is planning to start a fresh public outreach programme in the Valley from March this year.
They added that it is likely that the Union cabinet ministers who would likely visit Jammu and Kashmir would also attend some of the programmes to spread awareness among the people on certain things.
The cabinet ministers will also aware the people about the development measures being taken by the government in centre for the welfare of the local populace here.
Earlier, 36 Union ministers visited different districts in both the divisions of the Union Territory from January 18 to January 24. The visit was being coordinated by the home ministry.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told the group of union ministers visiting Jammu and Kashmir to spread the message of development among the people not only in the urban areas but also in the villages of the Valley.The ministers who visited Jammu and Kashmir had said that the Union Territory will witness a new dawn of development.
The Union Ministers after their visit to Jammu and Kashmir have also submitted their feedback to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the first week of this month on the implementation of various development schemes in the Union Territory. (KNO)
