Ganderbal 12 June (KNZ):Amid COVID-19 lockdown, the R&B department has resumed construction work on road from wayil to upper-wayil
An official said that the aim in starting the work apart from completing the projects on time was also to benefit the people who are suffering.
Locals said the road if constructed will shortens way to 3 KM.Which will be big relief for local residents.The project to be developed under NABARD was a long pending demand of the residents of Upper-Wayil and adjoining areas.
The work being executed under the supervision of R&B department at an estimated cost of around Rs 64 lac in two phase.
Since imposition of lockdown, the developmental works were halted. However the administration issued direction for resumption of works while adhering to COVID SOPs at the workplaces.
When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted Contractor Qazi Firdous Ahmad,he said no compromise will be made with the quality of work and We will complete this project in few months.
When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ Contacted Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal,Syed Sajad said “We have resumed construction work in various areas of Ganderbal district with issued pass by DC Ganderbal;mostly the priority works are being undertaken at the moment.
Adding the department is strictly implementing the COVID guidelines while undertaking any work for the safety of labourers as well as to contain the spread of deadly infection.KNZ
