Calls for extensive testing in Ward-05, Ward-06; Asks people to cooperate

BANDIPORA, JUNE 14: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Ravinder Kumar on Monday appealed the people of Bandipora town to cooperate with the Medical teams dealing with COVID by offereing themselves for testing for the  wellbeing of the society.

          He said this during an interacting with people at Ward-05 and Ward-06 declared as Red zones after detection of positive cases in the area. He said the people should stay indoors in these areas and voluntarily come forward for testing so  as to be assured that everyone is safe in the area. He said there are apprehensions that positive cases may have engaged with neighbors and friends and transmitted the virus to them and hence testing is important for the well being of the people.

          After imposing strict restrictions in the red zones of the town, DC called for strict implementation of restrictions to avoid spread of the virus and warned of strict action against the persons violating the restriction orders and those who try to skip testing.

          Later the Deputy Commissioner also visited Bandipora market and directed the officers to ensure the precautionary measures are taken by the shopkeepers including use of masks, availability of sanitizers and keeping of record of customers visiting their shops.

Dc Bandipora said the use of masks has become very important in the current scenario besides maintain other health hygiene and social distancing. He said the precautionary measures are the only solution to break the chain of spread of virus. He said the situation may go out of hands if the people does not adopt the precautionary measures as witnesses in some parts of the country.

          Ravinder Kumar said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of health of general public. He said the COVID19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of use of masks to contain spread of corona virus.

          Mr Kumar was accompanied by District Epidemiologist Dr Nabeel Ishtiyaq, Tehsildar Bandipora Rouf Iqbal, President Municipal Committee Bandipora Basharat Ahmad, DYSP Bandipora, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Mir Mushtaq, SHO Bandipora Mir Saleem, Nodal officers of various quarantine centres and other senior officers of the district.
