GANDERBAL, JULY 12: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting of health department to review the progress of sampling in red zone areas and measures taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus in the district.
During the meeting the DC emphasized upon the official of health department for rapid sampling in red zone areas of the district and directed for 100% sampling of pregnant ladies, people above 60 years of age and service providers in these areas of the district besides increasing the contact tracing of positive cases.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CMO Ganderbal, DHO, BMOs and other concerned.
Thread bare discussion was held on sampling data provided by the BMOs in their concerned red zone areas. He also stressed upon the concerned officials that contact tracing and surveillance should be increased so that the chain of transmission is broken.
Progress of Health audit survey through Swasthya Nidhi Application was also reviewed and comprehensive discussion was held on the data compiled by the health department. The DC asked the concerned to make use of Swasthya Nidhi Application in best possible manner for efficient data collection related to COVID-19.
While discussing the arrangements put in place at Covid Care Centre, Hatbura, CMO Ganderbal raised the issue of staff dearth for which DC said that staff shall be provided by ISM, Ganderbal and AMT school (nursing college) Kangan.
