Ganderbal 17 July (KNZ):Reservoir in Hydermaidan meant to supply potable water to Gurez colony Nunner is without its own water input,Jalshakti Deparment uses water for other water schemes to fill the reservoir which has caused water crisis in many villages.
Sources told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ that the reservoir was inaugurated a year ago without water sources.The question is why was the project inagurated without water sources?
Residents of Wayil,Sehipora,Mugdam Mohalla,Talie Mohalla,Dal Colony,Nunner,Babsipora are facing acute water shortage beacause water supply meant for these is being supplied to Gurez colony through this reservoir.
Local of the area are agitated against the irresponsible step of Jalshakti Department Ganderbal.
Locals said population of Gurez colony has increased main fold.Potable water consumption has increased the Department need to fill the reservoir with separate water source.
When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted Executive Engineer Jalshakti Department Ganderbal Mohd Aslam,he Said that they inagurated Gurez colony project 7 months ago , “we have applied for permission of PDC for source of water and Hopefully we will get permission soon and problem would be solved.”He said.KNZ
