Budgam, July 27, A drug peddler who was absconding from last 24 hours after he successfully managed to escape after jumping police naka and leaving his two bags full of poppy straw there and was arrested in less than 24 hours by Budgam police.
However, Budgam Police in a statement issued here said that ,continuing its efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, arrested a drug peddler for supplying drugs from Beerwah area and seized huge quantity of contraband substances from his possession.
the statement further said that the Police Party from P/S Breewah,acting on a specific information arrested 01 drug peddler identified as Farooq Ahmed Lone S/oAbdul Kareem Lone R/o Hanjilawaypora Breewah. During search 10 kgs of poppy straw has been recovered from his possession.
Accordingly,a case FIR No.190/20 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Breewah and investigation set into motion.(KDC)
