Police registered FIR against family for damaged hospital property

BARAMULLA, Sep 05 : A family from Jambazpora Baramulla in north Kashmir alleged that a 20-year-old pregnant woman died due medical negligence here at Government Medical College Baramulla on Sunday.
However, the health officials have denied the allegations made by the family. Whereas the family members of the deceased have allegedly damaged the hospital property as they were not happy with how a patient was taken care of.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a 20-year-old pregnant woman name withheld, wife of Hilal Ahmad of Perniya Baramulla was admitted at Government Medical College Baramulla two days back. However, two days after being admitted to the hospital, the pregnant woman died early morning today at Srinagar hospital.
While as soon after the news of the death reached to the family members, they allegedly damaged the hospital property and created rucks there.
“There is no medical negligence from the hospital and the FIR has been registered in the incident”, an official said.
Meanwhile, a police official told Kashmir Despatch that FIR has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
