Ganderbal 27 Dec : A routine Police naka checking was laid by a Police party of PS Gund led by SHO PS Gund. During checking near CRPF 118BN Head Quarters NHW Gund, Ganderbal, intercepted five person who were trying to hide consignment of 20 quarters of illicit liquor from Police party for checking.
During search of said persons, 20 quarters (kashmir XXX RUM & Olde Adventurer Rum 750ml each) were recovered from the possession of five persons namely Mohammad Safdar Sheikh S/O Roshan Din Sheikh R/O Nowshera, Ashok Kumar Patra S/O Kishna Patra, G Nuapalli R/O Odisha, Ranjeet Kumar S/O Hem Raj, Samroli R/O Udhampur, Waseem Ahmad S/O Mohd Sharief Wani R/O Ramsu, Ramban, Rahul Gupta S/O Rajmadi Gupta R/O MP Bumra.
Police party arrested the accused persons, seized illicit liquor and also registered Case FIR NO. 78/2020 U/S 48(1) Excise Act at PS Gund and further investigation is underway.
