Baramulla, Jan 17 (GNS): Burglars have struck at a shop in Kunzar Tangmarg in Baramulla district to decamp with mobile phones and accessories worth lacs during intervening Sunday night.
Reports reaching GNS said that unidentified burglars broke open locks of a mobile shop ‘Wani Sales’ in Kunzar locality to run away with dozens of mobile telephony units and accessories including memory cards, chargers, batteries.
Besides looting mobile telephony shop, the burglars as evident from the site, also have made an abortive bid on another shop.
Talking to GNS, owner of the looted shop Khalid Hussain Wani said that the ‘burglaries have became a new norm’ in the area now. “Six shops were looted in the area recently”, he said adding that “Despite knowing the imminent need to rein into such elements, we as shop-owners have witnessed a completely indifferent attitude by the local police.”
“Even when I reported this incident to them (police) in morning, I was made to wait for over an hour amid severe chill to get it formally registered at the local police post”, the shop-owner alleged.
Meanwhile SHO concerned debunking the allegations of ‘inaction’ made by the shop-owner said that they are “continuously keeping a vigil over the things and will bring to justice all those culprits involved into such acts.”(GNS)
