Srinagar, 18 Jan: There was some improvement in the minimum temperature across Kashmir on Monday, even as weather is likely to remain dry till January 22.

Mercury in Srinagar, which had recorded the minimum temperature of minus 7.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, settled at a low of minus 6.4 degree Celsius – improvement of over 1 degree Celsius.

Pahalgam, tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, recorded a low of minus 6.8° Celsius.

The mercury settled at a minimum of minus 8.3 degrees Celsius in Qazigund, minus 5.2 degrees Celsius in Kupwara and minus 6.9 degrees Celsius in Kokernag.

Gulmarg, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, recorded above normal night temperature for 5th straight day where mercury settled at a low of minus 6.0 degrees Celsius.

Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, has forecasted of cold and dry weather till 22 January with a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall on 23 & 24 January.
