July 18, KNT: A boy drowned to death in the river in Kishtwar area of Chenab Valley today. Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that in order to beat the heat, scores of boys were enjoying bathing in the river near Mughalmaidan. One of the boys identified as Saqlain Mushtaq, a resident of Brewar Kishtwar failed to make it to the river bank after enjoying a dip. Locals tried to rescue him, but retrieved him in the state of unconsciousness. The boy was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Chatroo, where doctors declared him brought dead. (KNT)
