Srinagar, Aug 28 (GNS): Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range Sujit Kumar (IPS) Saturday visited frontier Kupwara district. Kumar during the visit convened an officers’ meeting, reviewed security scenario besides holding an interaction with police personnel.
The DIG NKR was received by SSP Kupwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS and was presented ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival at DPO Kupwara.
During the security review meeting with police officers, the visiting dignitary assessed the law and order situation in the district. Kumar appreciated the role of Kupwara Police for their professionalism in maintaining peace and public order in the district by keeping the criminal activities under check. He also hailed the role of Kupwara Police in combating drug menace in the district and exhorted upon the officers to remain cautious and alert in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the district as the anti-national elements are trying to disturb the peace and stability in the area.
Kumar directed the officers to ensure better synergy among the forces to thwart any nefarious designs of the enemies of the nation.
DIG NKR later on held an open interaction with police personnel and heard their grievances patiently and assured their genuine grievances will be duly redressed.
He emphasized upon the police personnel for stringent action against the elements found involved in unlawful activities. He further directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the public for maintenance of peace and order.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy (IPS), ASP Kupwara, DySP Hqrs Kupwara, DySP PC Lolab and DySP DAR Kupwara among other middle and lower-rung officials.(GNS)
