Ganderbal 09 May:Brigadier Atul Rajput, SM Commander 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles carried out interaction with prominent Gujjar leaders from various parts of the Union Territory and especially from district Ganderbal.
The meet was attended by Mr Javed Mian Nazami from Baba Nagri, Wangat,
Mr Abdul Qayum Chechi (State Vice President International Gujjar Mahasabha), Mr Ghulam Qadir Khatana (District President International Gujjar Mahasabha Ganderbal), Ms Rubeena Begum (Women District President International Gujjar Mahasabha Ganderbal) and alongwith many other prominent local leaders of the community at Battalion Headquater, Wussan.
The interactive session focused on the important role played by Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in nation building. Commander 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles exhorted and asked all prominent Gujjar and Bakarwal leaders to contribute towards peace and development of the area. During this year Amarnath Ji Yatra there will be huge footfall of devotees and tourists. Gujjars and Bakarwals can play an important role in successful conduct of this yatra.
Overall the interactive session turned out to be successful as it further strengthened the bond between the local and nomadic Gujjar/Bakarwals and the security forces.
