GANDERBAL : Acting on a tip-off about the timber smuggling Ganderbal Police laid a specific Naka at Geraj, while checking Police Party of Police Station Ganderbal led by SHO Inspector Shri Tariq Ahmad under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal seized one Load Carrier bearing Registration No. JK16B-5822 which was carrying illegally acquired Forest Timber, approx 27 Cubic Feet and arrested one accused person namely Kaiser Ahmad Khan S/O. Gh Mohi Din Khan R/O. Budargund Ganderbal.
During the course of investigation, it came to the surface that some more illegally acquired finished Forest Timber is in the residential house of Gh Rasool Khan S/O Mohd Ramzan Khan R/O. Budargund, Ganderbal which was also seized.
In this regard Case FIR No. 279/2022, U/S 379 IPC, 26 Forest Act has been registered at PS Ganderbal and further investigation into the matter is going on and more arrests are expected.
Ganderbal Police vows to continue its strict action against Timber Smugglers, so that Green Gold can be saved for the future generations.
People of the area hailed such action and re-affirmed faith on Police.
