2639 Kashmiri migrants appointed in last five years
Srinagar Dec 07 :- Under PM’s Development Package, 3,000 govt jobs created for Kashmiri migrants. 2,639 Kashmiri migrants appointed in last 5 years, including 841 in 2020-21, 1,296 in 2021-22 & 502 in 2022-23. As for the remaining 361, selection for 198 posts at different stages of completion, MHA said on Wednesday.
Minister of state of Home Affairs NITYANAND RAI as per Kashmir Scroll said that Under Prime Minister’s Development Package, 3000 Government jobs for Kashmiri migrants have been created. Out of which, 2639 Kashmiri migrants have been appointed in the last five years. The details of the appointments made, year wise include 2020-2021, 841 2021-2022, 1296 and 502
2022-2023(till date).
Out of the remaining 361, the selection process for 198 posts is at various stages of completion, 40 posts relate to cases, which are sub- judice and 123 posts are re-advertised. Government has also approved construction of 6000 transit accommodations for Kashmiri migrant employees engaged/ being engaged in different departments of Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, he said .
Out of which, construction of 1025 Units have been completed/substantially completed. Further, the Government of India reimburses monthly cash relief to the Kashmiri migrants @Rs.3250/- per person subject to a ceiling of Rs.13000/- per family, he added.
No fresh migrant has been registered in last five years, the enhancement of cash relief to Kashmiri migrants is considered from time to time on the recommendation of the Government of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
