Accused 1987 election manipulators of seeking elections and alliance in New Delhi
Srinagar, July 31, KDC: Speaking on 24th foundation day of PDP, Waheed Parra attacked the National Conference and said those responsible for 1987, rigging, and pushing youth to gun by depriving democratic agency over decades are beginning for elections and alliance in New Delhi.
PDP Youth President on the foundation Day at Pulwama, according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said “If power alone would have helped J&K then there would have not been deaths and killings in successive regimes, Parra said adding that “Few parties want CM’ ship, some want Alliance with BJP, Some want elections and some demand Statehood.”
Parra said PDP had all this and our difference with BJP wasn’t on CM post, ministers, power or for statehood but Agenda of alliance and we wanted GOI/ BJP to permanently offer peace and dignity to people of J&K through an inclusive political process and lift siege around Kashmir. Our differences were for dialogue and implementation of PM’s working group recommendations. We didn’t differ because of power or fight for CM post or minister berths, he said.
“Mehbooba ji got all party delegation to the doors of APHC and they closed the doors for talks that was a historic blunder,” said Parra.
“We wanted to end shutdowns, hartals and gun culture through peaceful democratic process and dialogue- but elements failed our process now GOI used force to earn peace and it works for them, Waheed said, he said adding that schools are functioning smoothly and we withdrew cases against youth to mainstream them but they misused the opportunity and every offer Mehbooba ji including amnesty and ceasefire. Waheed further said that Mufti Sahab was Home minister of India and he made PDP to give Kashmir – its political agency and options to dance of death and end violence into democratic process. He extended space to people who were alienated by 1987 fraud. 2002 we made alliance with congress for political process not for government- 2014 we made alliance with BJP for continuing same political vision of mufti sahab today we joined Barath Jodo Yatra to envisage same vision of peace with dignity and we allied with NC in DDC elections for shared interest for people but never we compromised with the vision of our founder Mufti Sayeed sahib, said Waheed.
“Some parties want quarters, some want Security, some want Ministries and some want alliance with BJP – only PDP workers standing for upholding dignity and democracy.”
Mehbooba Mufti is cornered for standing for people and dignity of J&K, Parra said, adding that PDP was broken before state was broken and before 370 was taken because it was only democratic resistance BJP sees on ground. (KDC)
