J&K Government Orders Investigation into Allegedly Corrupt Police Officers, Including SSP

Srinagar, Oct 05 (KS) : The Jammu and Kashmir state government has ordered an inquiry against 10 police officers, including a senior superintendent, in relation to suspected corruption.

As per news agency Kashmir Scroll the investigation is being conducted under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The officers under scrutiny are Zubair Ahmad Khan, Farhat Jeelani, Mushtaq Ahmad, Nissar Ahmad, Abdul Rashid, Fareed Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Najam-ul-Gani, Syed Tasweer, and Tawseef Ahmad.

According to reports, the officers are suspected of embezzling petrol and diesel intended for use in police vehicles, leading to significant losses for the department.(KS)
