Ganderbal :As part of Public outreach programme,Thana Diwas; an initiative of Government of J&K, was observed by Ganderbal Police in all Police Establishments of the District.
The Main Event was organised at PS Kheerbawani in which SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS Chaired the meeting & heard the grievances of the general public of District Ganderbal. Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS, Dy.SP DAR Ganderbal Shri Nazir Ahmad & other senior Police Officers were also present on the said occasion.
Moreover, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal in the supervision of SDPO Kangan & Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal SHO’s of PS’s also held meeting in their respective subdivisions in which DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanchs, Panchs, youth & General Public participated whole heartedly.
In the event, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority & that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
While speaking on the occasion,SSP Ganderbal stated that policing at the grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Further, Chairing officer while speaking on the occasion said that Thana Diwas is an initiative to bridge the gap between Police and Public, to hear & redress the grievances of common masses & further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.
Referring to the criminal activities in the area, it was stressed upon the officers to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society and to take pledge to serve the society with missionary spirit and maintain the dignity of force.
The participants were requested to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and identifying Anti National and Anti Social Elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Finally, the event was concluded with the vote of thanks from both sides.
