Srinagar, Nov 17 (KS): Arms and ammunition have been recovered from a militant slain during an encounter in Rajouri, a senior police officer said.
The officer informed Kashmir Scroll that based on specific information, a joint operation was launched by Police, Army and CRPF in Behrote top.
“While moving towards the suspected site, the hiding militant started firing on the security forces, ensuing a gunfight”, the officer said adding “During the exchange of gunfire one militant was killed.”
“A huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the site from the militant, whose identity is being ascertained”, the officer said.
Meanwhile, the area is under cordon and combing operation going on – when this report was being filed. (KS)
