Srinagar, Nov 24: Three Lashkar-e-Toiba associates were on Friday apprehended during a naka checking by security forces at Beerwah area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said.
The officials informed news agency Kashmir Scroll that a naka was established by 62 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF at Pethkoot Beerwah in Budgam during which three persons were intercepted coming from Nagin Beerwah.
“Upon frisking the trio, the security forces recovered a hand grenade, 13 AK rounds and 9 LeT posters”, the officials said.
The officials identified the arrested trio as Mohammad Younus Dar, son of Mohammad Sultan Dar and Syed Jahangir Shah son of Ghulam ud Din Shah, residents of Arwah and another as Irfan Ahmad Wagay son of Ali Mohammad Wagay, resident of Nagin Beerwah.
“A case vide FIR number 145/23 under UA(P)A under sections 13, 18, 13, 18, 23, 39 and 7/25 Arms Act was registered in this regard”, the official said further. (KS)
