Srinagar, Mar 9: Nothing that could be held against the Srinagar-based gynecologist, who was recently accused of demanding money for pregnancy termination, has been found during the ongoing investigation, officials said today.
Officials from the Health Department said that while the investigation is underway, so far, they have not found anything suspicious or noted any violations that could be held against the particular doctor.
“As a pre-emptive measure, the clinic was sealed, kick-starting the investigation, but so far, we have not noted any violations, or anything that could prove the allegations; the doctor is a registered medical practitioner,” officials said.
It is to be noted here that a few days ago an unmarried female patient alleged that the gynecologist in question demanded money from her for the termination of “pregnancy”, after she was “shown” two pregnancy test kits declaring her positive.
However, the allegations were refuted by the said doctor, while the reports circulated on social media tagged the entire episode as a “pregnancy scam” and mostly one-sided.
The concerned doctor, who then had to come out to present her side of the story, said that when the patient reached out to her, she was carrying a USG report, which showed “increased endometrial thickness” with the complaint of “repeated bleeding.” (Daily Excelsior)
