Ganderbal 24 Feb (KNZ):Residents of Wayil and adjacent villages of Ganderbal district were jubilant when their long pending demand of construction of road from Wayil to Upper-Wayil (1 Kilometer) was met,but after just 6 days of its construction the work stopped.

Sources said debris of hillock has accumulated in large quantity which is Hampring construction of remaning road.

Contractor are not able to continue work further because of the debris.Ban has been put on to transport the debris to other place. Local farmers are also aghast beacause debris has blocked Padshahi canal.

Local residents has appealed concerned authorities to transport extra debris from the spot to pay way for construction of much needed road .

The road if constructed will shortens way to 3 KM.Which will be big relief for local residents. The project to be developed under NABARD was a long pending demand of the residents of Wayil and adjoining areas.

The works being executed under the supervision of R&B department at an estimated cost of around Rs 64 lac in two phase.

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted Contractor he said no compromise will be made with the quality of work and We will complete this project in few months,he added

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted R&B Executive engineer Mr Sajad Ahmad he said, “blockage of Padshahi canal will be removed immediately.Deadline line for completion of road is ending 2021.We will complete it before the deadline and this road will be very helpful for the people living in far away villages and local residents,he added.KNZ
