Kargil, August 11, 2023:Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani today chaired a meeting of district officers ahead of 76th Independence Day 2023 celebrations and reviewed arrangements to be put in place by the respective departments.
The meeting was attended by ACR Kargil, Program Officer ICDS, Divisional Forest Officer, Dy SP DAR Kargil, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AO to DC, Headquarter Assistant to DC and other officers/officials.
At the outset, the ADC took a review of preparatory activities being undertaken by the line departments and necessary facilities and arrangements being put in place for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Independence Day in the district.
The ADC directed officers of all concerned departments to work out a comprehensive plan to ensure all necessary arrangements are made in advance like march past, commentary proceeding, decoration and other related arrangements.
ADC Wani also took stock of arrangements and other facilities like seating arrangement, transport & parking facilities, electricity & water supply, medical aid, fire and emergency services, installation of PAS, erection of hoardings, catering arrangements, raising of National Flag and illumination of Govt. buildings on August 15, 2023.
Besides media management, security-related matters, issuance of security passes, and entry of VVIPs, VIPs and other participants were discussed in threadbare.
With regard to invitation cards and seating arrangements, the ADC asked the officers to conduct a comprehensive exercise to make sure that invitation cards are delivered to all dignitaries in advance, besides proper seating arrangements made as per the protocol.
The ADC also stressed on making fool-proof security arrangements in and around the stadium to ensure hassle-free celebration of the function. He also enjoined upon the officers to maintain close coordination with each other for holding the function smoothly.
Similarly, MC Kargil was directed to ensure arrangements for sanitation and cleanliness in and around Khree Sultan Cho Stadium Kargil. Later, the ADC along with other concerned officers visited the site of the celebration and took assessment of the arrangements being made.
