Kargil, Nov 05, 2023: Advisor to Honourable Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today toured to various villages of Zanskar and Kargil to inspect and assess the developmental works.
During the tour, he was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, ACR Kargil, SE PHE&I&FC Kargil, SE PWD Kargil, ACD Kargil and other concerned officers and officials.
During his visit, the advisor visited the Monastery at Sani, Zanskar. The religious heads presented the memorandum of demands. While replying to the memorandum of demands, the Advisor assured to follow up the projected demands.
He told the concerned officers that the manuscripts should be protected. He also stressed to protect the monastery heritage as it will boost the tourism industry in the region.
The advisor visited Manda Zanskar and inspected the JJM works. He also visited the Health and Wellness Centre at village Abran, Zanskar. He also interacted with the people and assured them that their genuine demands will be followed up.
Besides, he inspected the feasible location for the tower of transmission line at Pansila and other different locations. The advisor also inspected the construction of the NH301 road and took assessment of the project.
During his visit, he also inspected the under-construction Canal at Parkachik Kargil and directed the concerned to complete the pending works at the earliest.
The advisor inspected the hydropower project at Taisuru. At Taisuru, the people demanded land compensation, which came under the road widening. The advisor directed the Revenue Department to look into the matter and solve the issue as soon as possible.
Later, the Advisor to Honourable Lieutenant Governor chaired a meeting with the PDD, Revenue and RECPDCL, MOP to discuss the issues regarding project of transmission line.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, ACR Kargil, Manager RECPDCL, MOP and other concerned officers and officials.
During the meeting, the advisor stressed upon the officers to prioritize the interest of people. He directed the concerned to divert the transmission line where possible, so that the property and land of the people can be saved.
