Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir held a meeting of senior leaders, which was chaired by former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Guptya, at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar. Gupta was also accompanied by former Minister & state Vice president-Sham Lal Sharma, State secretary-Arvind Gupta, senior Bjp Leaders Rash Paul Verma, District president-Vinay Gupta and State office secretary-Tilak Gupta.
Gupta, while addressing the meeting, said that J&K residents who are stranded in other states have to be brought back after consultation with the respective state governments. J&K government should come up with a cumulative data of such stranded persons and chalk out a comprehensive plan to bring them back safely. Gupta said Govt. Should take up the matter with other states to complete 14 days of quarantine prior to sending persons to J&K in a phased manner. “After screening and testing such people, the concerned State government should start the process of sending them back. After they are brought to the J&K borders, the State government should transport them to their districts by bus,” said Gupta”. Gupta stressed for preparing a working plan and come up with details in this regard.
In the meeting the number of corona centres established, the facilities provided to the persons quarantined in the centres were discussed. Gupta informed the members present in the meeting that on the direction of Central leadership, two volunteers from the BJP has been deployed in each centre to monitor the situation and they are working round the clock in the centres allotted. As per directives from the top leadership, no person in the quarantine centre should be deprived of any type of necessity.
Sham Lal Sharma stressed for conduction of local level awareness programs in association with Govt. functionaries to ‘break the chain’ of transmission of the virus and enforce social distancing amongst the citizens. Sharma stressed for demonstration module on awareness of corona virus prevention. He also said that keeping the number of persons who shall be brought back to J&K after completing 14 days quarantine in the respective states they should be home quarantined which needs to strictly ensured.
