February 15: Police in Anantnag solved a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime. Stolen property worth lakhs of rupees was also recovered. On 12-12-2019, Police Station Aishmuqam received a complaint regarding burglary in a residential house at Manzigam Aishmuqam in which Gold ornaments worth Lakhs and cash 60,000 were stolen.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 51/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Aishmuqam and investigation was initiated. During the course of investigation, officers were able to identify one individual identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat resident of Mughal Bagh Wanpoh Kulgam.
When the officer spoke to him, they learnt about his involvement in the crime. Officers during the investigation got to know that the stolen property was received by a jeweller Sheikh Suhan of West Bengal presently running a jewellery shop at Saraf Bazar Dangerpora, Anantnag. Subsequently Police recovered stolen Gold ornaments from the jewellery shop and the receiver of stolen property was also arrested. Both the accused persons have been shifted to Police Station Aishmuqam where they remain in custody.
Further investigation in the matter is in progress. General public of the area applauded the professional and sincere efforts made by the Anantnag Police during the investigation of the case.
