Anantnag, Dec 5 (GNS): Traffic snarls along several vital road stretches have been a daily affair for a while in this south Kashmir district.
Residents from the district told GNS that the daily traffic jamming particularly at Mehandi Kadal, Lal Chowk, Janglat Mandi and Ashgipora has been causing huge inconvenience to the students, patients, employees and commoners alike.
While the residents said that the traffic jamming happens due to illegal parking of vehicles along the road, they were however quick to add that the administration has evenly failed to free the vital areas from the mess despite being appraised on several occasions.
A multi-level car parking space is ready at Janglat Mandi, however that is yet to be made operational for the reasons best known to administration, the residents said adding there even are no traffic signals on the main points.
Urging the district administration to take measures, the locals further said that they hope something would be done sooner than later to resolve the issue. (GNS)
