JAMMU, NOVEMBER 23: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today visited Jamia Masjid Umar here at Railhead Jammu and took stock of various ongoing developmental works including construction of Wazu Khana.
The Minister directed the executing agency to expedite the pace on all ongoing works and complete these in a stipulated time frame. He also asked the caretakers to ensure cleanliness in and around the Masjid Sharief so that the devotees do not face any hardship in offering prayers.
Earlier, the Minister for Hajj and Auqaf flagged off a group comprising of 125 persons, headed by Waaz Khana Molvi Mohammad Farooq Qadri Imam Shab Jamia Masjid Umar Railhead Jammu, for Makkah and Madina Sharief to perform Umrah.
Special prayers were held on the occasion and while interacting with the pilgrims, the Minster expressed hope that their journey will be comfortable and happy. He appealed them to pray for development, prosperity and peace of the Jammu and Kashmir State.
Later, the Minister visited Ziarat Sharief of Peer Budhan Ali Shah Satwari Jammu and paid obeisance there.
On the occasion, Minister offered a Chadar at the shrine and attended special prayers which were led by Imam Shab, Hafiz Mohammad Aazim Ali.
Administrator Auqaf Jammu, Wakheel Ahmad Bhat briefed the Minister about the achievements registered by the Auqaf Jammu. The Minister asked the concerned for better upkeep of auqaf properties and assts.
