Srinagar, Aug 13: A 26-year-old youth was killed in forces firing at Shopian, marking second civilian death in south Kashmir in few hours following the killing of Hizb’s Chief operational commander along with two associates on Sunday.
A police officer told news agency GNS that the youth identified as Mohammad Sayed Bhat was injured critically in firing by government forces in Shopian and was shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for treatment. He later succumbed to his grave bullet injuries.
This is the second killing during protest against the killing of Hizb’s Commander Mohd Yasin Yatoo alias Mehmood Gznavi along with his two associates.
Soon after the news about killing of the militants spread clashes erupted in number of places particularly parts of south Kashmir and central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Earlier, a youth Owais Ahmad Dar, son of Muhammad Shafi Dar was killed in pellet fire by paramilitary CRPF at Kakpora in Pulwama district. (GNS)
