Ganderbal (Kangan) 12 Feb (KNZ): Nearly 9.15 kanals of government land was retrieved in a major anti-encroachment drive in Chinner area of Kangan in Ganderbal District.
The drive was carried out at chinner and adjoining areas under the supervision of SDM Kangan Hakeem Tanveer.
The officials said one JCB machine and labours were pressed into action and all the illegal trees were raised to the ground during the drive which was accomplished in assistance with police.
The SDM Kangan directed the revenue officers to initiate the demarcation process of the retrieved land immediately.
“Any encroachment on government land in the district will not be viewed leniently and action as warranted under law shall be initiated,”he warned.
“The concerned officers have been instructed to keep a vigil in the area and initiate strict action with assistance from the local law enforcement officials,” he said.
SDM Kangan Mr Hakeem Tanveer, SDPO Kangan Mr Sheikh Tahir,Tehsildar Kangan Mr Mohd Aslam,Naib Tehsildar Kangan Gh Nabi and Naib Tehsildar Planning Mohd Ishaaq were also present on this drive.(KNZ)
