APDP Holds Silent Protest In Press Enclave Srinagar.

Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) THURSDAY held a silent protest in Srinagar’s PRESS ENCLAVE here against what it termed the authorities “deceitful approach” in tracing out their beloved ones who are disappeared since 1989 & 90 in Kashmir. The members of the association assembled at Srinagar’s PRESS ENCLAVE under the banner of APDP and demanded whereabouts of their beloved ones. The family and relatives of disappeared persons participated in the silent PROTEST program to press the government to seek information about their beloved ones, who have vanished, presumed dead or imprisoned without trial or record.
The family members of the disappeared persons alleged that their kin have been subjected to enforced disappearances by the forces and their related agencies from their homes, streets and even roads.
The association members vowed to continue their struggle for truth, justice and accountability till both the state and central governments accept their demand of impartial probe into the enforced disappearances and custodial killings.
PROTESTER said that the main aim of their protest is to make the world community aware of the plight of people of Kashmir. “We want to draw the attention of international organizations for intervening and mounting pressure on India to provide whereabouts of our missing family members,” one of the protester said.
The family of disappeared persons later appealed the government and International rights bodies to look into the matter and help them in tracing their beloved ones who are disappeared since decades.
