Bandipora Oct 26: Ajas army camp of 13 RR bn (kumaon) under the aegis of hq 3 sect rr organised Jashn-e-Kashmir cultural programme at higher secondary school Ajas on 26 october 2020 in continuation with its efforts to reach out the awaam aiming at harmonious integration of the indian army & the awaam.
The event was so designed to be a mix of village games to include slow cycle race, lemon & spoon race, jalebi race, sack race, knock the glass, ring throw, baloon shooting, kick the ball, sazas, bull ride & many more which enthralled everyone.
In addition to it sufi singing, patriotic songs by kids, traditional/ folk dance by a troupe, raffle draw & demonstration of martial arts by the very famous international sports icon md faisal rather & his team, in which self defence for women was also shown.
The event also covered medical aid to the needy.
The event witnessed a footfall of 1000 plus people with unprecedented participation from all the nearby villages. the aim of the event was also to promote peace & a healthy lifestyle among the locals.
On the occasion, Second in command, 13 rr bn awarded the winners of all games & also felicitated the participants during the closing ceremony by strictly following all covid-19 precautions.
Meanwhile J&K govt officials, from all villages attended the event and the response from all locals was overwhelming. The elders were very appreciative of the indian army’s efforts to make the event a grand success & also requested for more such events in the future. (CNS)
