Srinagar, Jan 31 (KS) : Indian Army on Wednesday rescued a team of skiers stranded in Pattan area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that post of Banal ex Pattan Bn recieved info at 0730pm on 30 Jan about a skiing team of 7 individuals
including 2 foreign nationals(Switzerland) got stranded due to bad weather after coming down from Sunshine peak.

He said that the SDPO Tangmarg was informed and the rescue party of str 02-02-20 under Maj Abhay received the information around 0730pm and tried to establish contact with the stranded skiers.

He said tha at around 0945pm, the rescue team was able to establish contact with the stranded civilian who are occupying a dhok near Alu post and stayed put for the night as the approach route was not accessible and bad vis was there.

The Rescue Operation started at around 0800 am and the individuals were brought to Banal COB and given first aid and meals, he said .

The individuals were further taken till Drang Rd Head by Civ Vehs at 0100 on, he added.
