Kissan Credit Card (KCC) awareness cum distribution camp was held in the lawns of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal by District Agriculture Department under guidance of District Development Commissioner, Shafqat Iqbal. Prominent among those present on the occasion included ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO, Anika Mushtaq, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Lead Bank Manager, BDC Chairpersons, representatives of RESTI besides large number of farming community members including women folk attended the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC, who was chief guest exhorted upon farmers to avail the extension and financial aid provided to the farmer through various schemes. He sought maximum involvement on part of people as beneficiaries for schemes like KCC and others.
He urged the concerned department to cover all the farmers of the district under the scheme till last week of March this year for which he asked the farmers to come forward and register themselves actively under the scheme. Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal elaborated upon the KCC scheme and other welfare schemes for the farmers provided by the Agriculture Deptt. District Lead Bank Manager also speak on the occasion and made farmers aware about the bank formalities and requirements for availing KCC Scheme. During the camp farmers raised several queries for availing the KCC which were answered by the experts with satisfactory. As many as 200 fresh KCC sanctioned letters were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
