GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 04: The district administration in Ganderbal has devised a programme under three phases. The first phase started on 02 October under which 42 Panchayat Halqas were targeted to be covered which culminated today successfully.

The first leg of the program witnessed conduct of multifarious activities with active participation of PRIs and Public.

Series of activities were held in these Panchayats. The Visiting Officers organised Mahila Sabhas, field visits, inaugurate several works completed under B2V program besides finalization of MGNREGA and 15th FC plans after thorough discussion prioritizing the works which benefit maximum number of people.

The District Development Commissioner also visited several Panchayat halqas including Kurhama and Search chowdribagh where PRIs and locals apprised him about their issues and demands.

At Kurhama, the locals demand all facilities at PHC, playground and job opportunity in Central University whose land has been taken and other issues of public importance.

While visiting Panchayat Halqa Serch, the people apprised the DDC about verious issues and sought his intervention for resolving the same.

ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, BDC chairperson, Tehsildar Ganderbal and BDO Ganderbal accompanied the DDC.

While replying the issues raised, the DDC urged them to participate in the program with enthusiasm as the main purpose of this programme is to collect feedback on delivery of government programmes, undertaking assessment of needs of the villages and implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes at grassroot level.

Highlighting the objective of B2V3, the DDC said that Government aims at strengthening and empowering PRIs through participatory governance and urged upon the Sarpanchs to make efficient and effective use of the funds being made available to them under various schemes for development and growth of their areas.

Later, the DDC also witnessed the final cricket match of Manigam Premier League in which 32 teams had participated.

While interacting with the players, the DDC highlighted the initiatives taken by the District Administration to give flip to sports in the district.

Earlier, the DDC also visited the Sanik School Manasbal where he inspected the ongoing entrance test for 6th and 9th classes in which students of Badgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar had appeared.
